Student and Community Relations offers information about living in local neighborhoods, landlord/tenant issues, zoning, city ordinances, community involvement, and responsible party hosting. The office coordinates the Student Neighborhood Liaison program which hires student leaders to work in area neighborhoods to reduce livability issues. We accomplish this by partnering with neighborhood organizations and residents to bridge the gap between students and their neighbors and create opportunities for all to be engaged in the neighborhood.

STUDENT SPOTLIGHT:

Matthew Pryor

Photo of Matthew PryorWhen I was a freshman, I had a difficult time transitioning from my small home town of New Ulm, MN to the 26,000 Undergraduate population of the University of Minnesota. In order to size down the University I joined a fraternity on campus, but realizing something was missing in my leadership development, I enrolled in the leadership minor. MORE

ALUMNI SPOTLIGHT!

Katie Jurgenson

Photo of Katie Jurgenson My leadership journey up to this point has been a very involved one, but a different one. I started out in the 1000 level class and before I knew it I was working in the office, I was a TA for multiple classes and I was deep in my passion for understanding and improving the Leadership Minor. While working through the summer I was allowed to further my understanding of the history, processes and issues surrounding the Minor. At that point I became completely involved in the future of the Minor.  MORE
